1. What this page covers
This page explains the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies that may be involved when you visit federicovergagni.com. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
2. First-party functional storage
The website does not use first-party cookies for user accounts, behavioural advertising or profiling. It does use two small browser-storage items required for the chosen user experience:
| Technology | Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local storage | theme | Remembers the selected light or dark appearance across pages and later visits. | Until deleted or changed by the visitor. |
| Session storage | fv_intro_seen | Prevents the introductory screen from repeating during the same browser session. | Until the browser session ends. |
Local storage and session storage are not traditional cookies, but they are similar technologies because they store information in the visitor’s browser. They are used only for functional purposes.
3. Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery and security services. Depending on the security features triggered by a request, Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar mechanisms to manage traffic and protect the website from malicious activity. These mechanisms are not used by Federico Vergagni for advertising profiles.
More information is available in Cloudflare’s cookie documentation.
4. YouTube and SoundCloud embeds
The website contains embedded media players supplied by YouTube and SoundCloud. These third parties may store or access cookies and similar identifiers, receive technical information, and process interactions with their players. This may occur when embedded content loads or when you press play, depending on the provider, browser and account status.
YouTube videos are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, which limits certain personalisation uses, but it does not make the player independent of Google’s own privacy practices. SoundCloud states that website owners using its embedded player should inform visitors and link to its cookie information.

5. Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled on this website. It uses a lightweight Real User Monitoring (RUM) beacon that runs in the visitor’s browser and sends usage and performance measurements to Cloudflare. The information may include the viewed or landing page, referring page, page-load and resource timings, and performance measurements such as Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift.
Cloudflare states that this analytics beacon does not store data in, or access data from, cookies, local storage, session storage or IndexedDB. The performance information relates to the current page view and is held in browser memory only while that page is being viewed. Cloudflare also states that the source IP address received as part of normal HTTP request handling is discarded at the nearest Cloudflare data centre and is not stored in the service’s core databases or logs.
The information is used in aggregated reports to understand website usage and monitor loading performance. The website does not currently use Google Analytics or advertising analytics.

6. External links
Links to external websites do not place their cookies merely because the link is displayed. Once you follow a link, the destination website may use cookies and other technologies under its own policies.
7. Managing browser storage and cookies
You can delete local storage, session storage and cookies through your browser’s privacy or site-data settings. Blocking functional storage may prevent the website from remembering the selected theme or whether the introduction has already been shown. Blocking third-party content or cookies may prevent YouTube or SoundCloud players from operating correctly.
8. Updates
This page will be revised if analytics, checkout services, newsletters, additional embeds or other tracking technologies are introduced.
